My sailing adventure, which started at the age of 7, continued as I became a national sailor at the age of 9. I spent themy whole years that should have been the most fun of my life, working hard at camps and trainings. After representing my country in the best way for 9 years and achieving many valuable successes, I ended my sailing career in 1999. My path continued with my decision to study in America and apply for a sailing scholarship. When I learned that I was accepted, I started planning what I could do in the first few years form y future. However, unfortunately, I was devastated when I received the news that I did not pass the English exam, and I had to complete the course in the first year. The journalism profession required a good level of English, and although I continued my sports career, the small jobs I did, the intensity of school, and the lack of time for sailing made me lose the scholarship and I couldn’t continue sailing. Along with my eating habits, my daily life and sports life changed completely. In the following years, I stayed completely away from a healthy lifestyle…
Over the years, I had very different habits at different times. I occasionally tried to move a little and rarely tried to eat properly. Until my husband, who consciously supported me in this regard and reminded me of my past sports life, increased my interest in full-time sports again, balanced and healthy diet and long-lasting life in the last few years. I dedicated myself researching, following professionals, reading articles and books on the subject, and listening to podcasts of pioneers.
I also try to set an example for my family in this regard and raise awareness about healthy living. Especially, for my daughters who love sports very much, I started to spend time sharing with them what I have learned. I try to instill the importance of a balanced lifestyle in them and do my best to raise them healthy. Now that I have made sports and healthy eating a way of life, my daughters observe and feel, I try to be a role model for them when necessary.
Unfortunately, although I give them headaches in these matters, we experience the difficulties of being in a country like England, which is the 2nd most unhealthy eating country in the world (America takes the 1st place). I will explain more detailed information on this in my future writings.
I want you to know that among the factors affecting Longevity, the most valuable topic of recent years, our lifestyle, eating habits, weekly movement and sports routine, and of course genetic factors are very important. I love emphasizing the importance of these valuable habits and supporting those around me in this regard. We will meet on topics such as longevity, healthy living, and the importance of sports from now on.
